“Going Rouge – Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare”

Sound familiar? It’s because it is strikingly similiar to Sarah Palin’s book “Going Rogue” that’s set to be released on November 17th. A couple of bitter feminists got together and compiled a book of Sarah Palin smears, craftily entitled “Going Rouge – Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare” also set to drop on November 17th.
Gateway Pundit has a picture of the two covers, side by side, and minus the clever rogue/rouge switcheroo and the fact that the feminazi’s book has the subtitle “An American Nightmare” the books look exactly the freaking same.
This is dumb and misleading but hey – it’s still a free country – so whatever. What angers me is not the blatant copy-catting, but the subtitle: An American Nightmare. Why is Sarah Palin a nightmare? Because she’s a Christian? Because she’s a successful woman who has been able to raise five children and have a career, and a high profile career at that? Is it because she had the audacity to “choose” to give birth to a disabled child (9 out of 10 children found to have Down Syndrome during prenatal screenings are murdered…err, aborted for the squeamish “it’s not a baby until it pays taxes!” crowd)?
Calling Sarah Palin a nightmare implies that I am a nightmare; that my conservative friends and family are nightmares. What makes us nightmares, exactly? I had a liberal once tell me that “traditional family values” scared her to death. For real? Home invasions scare me to death, the thought of my children being hurt or molested scares me to death, a world without freedom scares me to death, but the 1950’s traditional family model? Not so much. Mom, Dad, two kids and a dog – now there’s a real spine tingler, let me tell you.
Liberals hate her because they fear her. There is a visceral knee-jerk reaction from the libs each time this woman does something. It’s palpable and it’s hilarious! I think this comment on Hot Air says it best:
Pathetic.

BOOGITY!!!!
CONSERVATIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES!!!
[cue stabbing knife noise and the swishing of an apron]
Liberals? They’re afraid of the most ridiculous, benign things. It’s almost like they’re scared of reality.

Liberals do not hate her because she is a Christian (I am from a Christian family), raises children and has a career (as do I), or chose to give birth to a disabled child (as did I). What a ridiculous way to color the opposition. My family is made up of mostly conservative, religious people and we were raised by a stay at home mother who we adore.
With that said, I am a registered republican that has become more and more liberal over the years. I don’t hate Palin at all. I respect the job she has done as a mother of a large family and her children seem well adjusted. I even feel sorry for her at times. But I don’t think she is a good candidate as a national leader because I personally think she is too limited intellectually. Not because I fear her in any way.

If liberals don’t hate her for her beliefs, then why would they call her an American “nightmare”? You’ve said they don’t hate her for the list of reasons I gave (I believe you called them ridiculous) but you haven’t – as a sort-of liberal – given me any reasons for their vicious and unrelenting attacks against her. It’s pretty obvious that she lives her life and represents choices and a lifestyle that modern feminists abhor. Either they hate her beliefs, or they hate her track record as an executive in government: fiscal responsibility and snuffing out corruption. Which is it?
Just out of curiosity, could you give me an example that’s brought you to the conclusion that she’s too limited intellectually to hold the office of president? Do you think she’s less intellectually capable than Obama? Why or why not?
